BIO

Isabella (Melody) Moore is an Australian and Afro/Native Peruvian photojournalist from Sydney who makes socially and culturally driven portraits and essays. Her cultural heritage informs her perspective and her approach. Her stories share insights and observations about society that are traditionally stereotyped or misrepresented in the media. Her interest in authentic and ethical representation means she reports with, instead of on, or about people. She believes that female perspectives and diverse ways of working are crucial in providing a balanced and more nuanced practice of photography.

Isabella is a member of Women Photograph and Diversify Photo. She is currently studying a Masters of Advanced Journalism at the University of Technology, Sydney (2020-2021) and has a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies at Macquarie University, Sydney (2008).
